PeakTimeTracker

Categories

A rule matches any part of the app name or window/tab title, like youtube, docs.google or excel.exe. Your rules override the built-in lists and apply to past days too.

    Edit agent

Night shift? Put the end before the start (e.g. 21:00 to 06:00): it counts as one work day, on the date it starts.

Leave the shift empty for no schedule: alerts then apply all day, and no late or absent marks are made.

    Notifications

Paste an incoming-webhook address from Slack, Microsoft Teams or Discord. Alerts, flags and late/absent marks are posted there, once per agent per kind per day.

    Company settings

Install the agent on a PC

Send this link to your staff. It opens an install page for your company; nobody else can use it.

Or install it yourself on a PC

    1. On the PC, download PeakTimeTracker.exe (no Python needed).
    2. Open Command Prompt and run:

Until the app is code-signed, Windows may say it's from an unknown publisher: choose More info → Run anyway.

Or, on a PC with Python

Download tracker.py and categories.py into one folder, then in that folder run:

A new link stops the old one from installing more PCs. PCs already installed keep working: each has its own key. Use it if the link leaked.

    Privacy notice for your staff

Shown on the install page. Say why you monitor, how long records are kept, and who to contact (your Data Protection Officer). A template is in docs/privacy.

    Installed PCs

Each PC has its own secret key. Remove one (a lost, sold or stolen PC) and it stops reporting at once.

      Security log

        Billing

Pay with the invoice number as the reference; your PCs are unlocked as soon as the payment is recorded.

          Data retention

Checked every hour. Deleted activity can't be recovered, and reports only cover what is kept.

          Tracking

          People

Managers can edit categories and agents; viewers can only look; owners also manage people, the token and notifications. Give each person their starting password yourself.

            Record a payment

            Change password

            Two-factor login

Lost your phone? Ask your company owner to reset your password (that also turns two-factor off), then set it up again.
